I engineered about one fourth of John's "Common Sense" album. The disc was produced by Steve Cropper and was my first experience with Steve and John. John is the funniest guy I've ever been with in the studio. He is also an original artist...a true star. Every session was an event with a lot of drama, side stories, laughs and fun. John has many friends who would come by just to laugh and maybe help him out. I met and worked with Bonnie Raitt, Glen Frey, Jackson Browne, J.D. Souther...all in one night at a John Prine session! They came in to sing backing vocals on the title song. My favorite tune on that album is: "Come Back to Us Barbara Lewis Hare Krishna Beauregard"
