Fender® American Deluxe Basses

There are three new American Deluxe basses from Fender: the American Deluxe Precision Bass, American Deluxe Jazz Bass and the American Deluxe Jazz Bass V. These are modernized versions of the classic instruments. They include the new N3 Noiseless pickups with new electronics that are said to increase headroom and provide a tighter low-end response. These basses have both active and passive modes with a toggle switch to go between them and a passive tone control while in that mode.
They all share what Fender calls an A-string "stealth" string retainer on the headstock and a heavy vintage bridge. The Jazz Bass V model has the retainer on the low B string. You also get a tinted neck bolted on using a five-bolt plate with Posiflex graphite neck support rods and a contoured heel for easier access to upper frets.
The neck has rolled fingerboard edges, a genuine bone nut, and black pearl or white pearloid fretboard inlays. There are dot inlays on the Precision model (pictured) and the two Jazz models have the classic-looking neck binding and block inlays. In addition, the Jazz Bass V model has a compound radius fingerboard and asymmetrical neck profile for fast action and smooth playability all the way up the neck.
All basses finish with a very accessible battery compartment via flathead screws for changing easily using a coin or pick. MSRP prices are: Jazz Bass at $2,099.99; Jazz Bass V is $2,199.99; and the Precision Bass sells for $1,999.99. For more information, visit www.fender.com.
