Only fifty of these handcrafted snare drums will be produced. They each come with the 2009 Grammy-Award Winning, Miles Davis' "Kind of Blue" 50th Anniversary Collector's Edition box set. "Kind of Blue," now RIAA certified as 4X platinum, is considered one of most significant and best-selling jazz recordings of all time.
These snare drums include a signed letter of authenticity from Miles Davis Properties, LLC and are made to the highest manufacturing standards in the USA. Each drum has a serial number, is personalized for its recipient with an internal label bearing the recipient's picture and name, and carries a personalized Kind Of Blue 50th Anniversary badge.
The KOB snare drums come in two sizes: 5.5 x 14-inches and 6.5 x 14-inch. The shells are 100%, eight-ply rock maple or aircraft-grade aluminum. Finishes offered on the wood drums are gloss clear maple or gloss KOB metal flake while the aluminum models will come in an anodized blue.
The KOB snare drum with a standard strainer sells for $1,600 MSRP and the KOB snare drum with an ultra-sensitive strainer will sell for $3,750 MSRP.
