Audio-Technica AT8022 and BP4025 Stereo Microphones Both the AT8022 ($499) and the BP4025 (pictured) ($749) X/Y stereo field recording microphones are designed for broadcast and professional recording. Lightweight, either can be handheld or attached to the top of a video camera. The unique coincident capsule configuration allows for their smaller size (as compared to other stereo mics) and the "point and capture" of stereo sound with all the spatial impact and realism of a live sound field required by high definition video images.

Both mics have an 80 Hz high-pass filter for both wind/rumble noise and close vocal "popping" reduction and each come equipped with a professional stand clamp, windscreen and a soft, protective pouch. The AT8022 is designed for consumer or professional gear and operates on either a 1.5V AA battery or 11-52V DC phantom power. It comes with two cables: one balanced with XLR connectors for professional use, and the other unbalanced with a consumer 3.5 mm TRS plug ready for any portable audio recorder.

The BP4025, with its large diaphragm capsule, is designed specifically for professional broadcast and recording applications and operates on 11-52V DC phantom power only. The BP4025 has a switchable -10dB attenuation pad and a 5-pin XLR output that feeds a stereo cable that fans out to two 3-pin XLR connectors.
