Blade Guitars celebrates their 20th anniversary with the California Climax (pictured) and California Classic guitars. The Climax features a hand-rubbed oil finish on alder for a very light and resonant instrument while the Classic is available in Jet Black, Vintage White, Purple Rain and Blue Metallic. The maple neck is satin finished and ends in a hard tail bridge.
The California Classic has a single LH-4 humbucker and two VS-1 single coil pickups mounted on a black pickguard. It also comes with a Blade vintage-style M-54 whammy and Auto-Split that splits the humbucker coils when combined with the middle single coil. The Classic is a passive design whereas the Climax uses a VSC-3 Variable Spectrum control for improved tonal versatility.
Although the Classic does not come with a case, the Climax is supplied with an ultra-light, high impact case and available in a number of oiled finishes including Very Violet, Rubbed Red, Brushed Blue and Totally Natural.
