Not artificial intelligence, Generate is a seemingly random "roll of the dice" of parameter effect values--every parameter changes with some surprising outcomes designed to be always useful.

There are two Generate buttons: one exclusively for the Echoes section's delay taps and one in the Wet/Dry center section that changes all parameters in the plug-in. Most of the time, I would only have to adjust the Wet/Dry amount and be done! When I heard something cool, I would first save it (before any tweaks) as a new user preset for later!

The Wet/Dry mixer control in the center of the GUI is a joystick that controls the relative mix between Echoes and its 16-step delay sequencer and Space's algorithmic reverb/modulator effect.

For time-based effects, I'm old school and always send/return to plug-ins but with Spaced Out I have found its effect so specialized and can be tweaked to a given source, I usually insert it right in the plug-in chain. It is a true stereo processor so, for example, if you use it on a group of stereo backing vocals, all the send's pan positions are preserved through the effect. I am finding so many ways to use it it's crazy!

Echoes

Each of the 16 delay taps can be set to Off, On or filtered for a lower output. Other parameters include Intensity--a cross fader between the delay volume and number of repeats. Dimension offers either Ultra-Wide--a stereo widening effect of the delays or Motion, a cool-sounding auto-panning of the delay tap outputs.

The Echoes section also has Texture choices for the delay signals. Clean is a pristine delay, Lo-fi is darker and harder to hear distinct repeats well, then either Wonky Tape or Hazy that are chorus-like treatments.

I liked Reverse that flips around the delay signal before all other processing and both the high pass and low pass filters to further shape the delay signal. Lastly you can choose between straight, 2X, dotted, and triplet delay times based on your DAW session tempo.

Space Engine

The Space reverb engine starts with four Programs descriptively named: Vacuum, Small Space, Medium Space, and Outer Space. They all have some chorusing modulation that I could not seem to turn off. There is up to 250ms available set by the Pre-Delay control and the Stardust control sets the amount of high frequency fizz. You can use the Stardust and Mellow controls and the section's HPF and LPF to dial in the overall reverb tone. I also like the separate Width control to dial in the reverb's stereo width anywhere from straight up the middle mono to wider and larger than life stereo! The Clean-Up switch decreases reverb density.

Wet/Dry Mixer

Besides the aforementioned X-Y joystick mixer and the global Generate button, there is the Ducker feature that lowers or ducks the wet signal in quarter notes when linked (sync'd) to your session's tempo, or to the dry signal when not.

Spaced Out comes with 125 presets created by Baby Audio and other artists and producers such as: Filip Nikolic, Tushar Apte and much more. Go with just about any of these fine presets and modify or Generate it! My only gripes would be that it is hard to read the parameter settings even though the GUI takes up a lot computer screen space. This is a creative and trippy plug-in!
